Student Ornaments Help Support Whitney Elementary

LAS VEGAS, December 4, 2013 – LP Insurance Services, Inc. proudly joins Kemp Broadcasting (Hot 97.5 FM, The Q 106.9 FM and Fox Sports 670 AM) in supporting Whitney Elementary School this holiday season. Beginning Dec. 7 ornaments decorated by Whitney Elementary students will be available for purchase via Kemp Broadcasting websites. Every dollar from ornament sales will be used to support the students of Whitney Elementary as more than 85 percent of the school’s students are considered homeless and will struggle for food while on winter break. 

On Dec. 6, the LP Insurance team is happily donating and delivering all the materials and supplies for each student to create a unique ornament or holiday item. Once completed, the ornaments and items will be for sale via the Kemp Broadcasting radio stations. “When we learned of the continuing needs of the children at Whitney Elementary, everyone at LP jumped at the chance to help out,” said Greg Pike, LP Insurance Partner.

“We truly need the support as most of our students will face hunger over the holidays,” said Sherrie Gahn, Whitney Elementary School Principal. Nearly all the school’s students qualify for government-funded school breakfast and lunch programs. “For many of our kids, the food provided during school hours is the only food they get each day, so it is vitally important we provide all we can over school breaks,” added Gahn.
