Risk Management Seminar Series Hosts “The Role of Drug Testing in the Workplace”

JUNE 26, 2014 – LP Insurance Services, Inc. proudly continues its successful Risk Management Seminar series, hosting multiple clients and guests in Las Vegas and Reno. The semi-annual series, conducted by LP Insurance, allows invited guests the opportunity to learn about timely insurance-related topics from industry leaders and compliance administrators.

The most recent seminars, held in June 2014, covered the role of drug testing in the workplace and issues facing employers regarding medical marijuana as well as drug and alcohol workplace policies. Attendees heard from Sinnett Consulting Services managing partner, Tonica Lathrop, an expert in drug and alcohol policies and programs.

Guests learned how the new medical marijuana laws may impact policies as well as procedures. They also discovered methods and programs for preparing, implementing and managing a company drug and alcohol policy.

Bob Wheeler, Director of Intellecom Communications Inc. in southern Nev., said the seminar was very informative and moved the company to act stating, “We are now reviewing and editing our alcohol and drug policy.”

Jack Hisey, Safety/Risk Manager A&K Earthmovers, Inc. in northern Nev. said, “The information that was presented reaffirmed my understanding on several items and clarified our company’s responsibilities and rights on other issues.”

Attendees also learned of training programs which may help protect and educate a company and its employees regarding safety, drug and alcohol, and compliance related situations.
